Rules for Social Media Contests & Giveaways

  • First thing you have to know is our Privacy Policy, all that legal fun stuff…
  • You don’t have to buy anything to participate, play, or win. Any applicable taxes are yours to cover (though we have no plans to give away cars, exotic vacations, or expensive prizes anytime soon…)
  • If we post a “Tweet” or message of the day, week, etc., or tell you we are going to pick our favorite response to something, we get to pick the one we like. Same applies when we say we are going to pick more than one.
  • If we offer something for the first number of “Tweets” or responses, we count based on when we received them.
  • We also reserve the right to exclude a participant from contention if we deem your username, profile information, or your “Tweets,” in general, to be offensive.
  • By playing, you give us permission to use your name and profile information to announce as a winner. If you want to know who won, the winner’s name will be posted on shesthefirst.org within a week, and announced on Twitter/Facebook as soon as possible.
  • What you send us becomes our property.
  • Should you be lucky enough to win one of these contests, we will need to get some information from you in order to get you the prize that you won. If you don’t give us enough information to contact you within 48 hours, we will move on.
  • If the prize gets lost in the mail, we aren’t responsible — prizes valued under $25 will not be shipped with insurance.
  • Must be 13 or older to play. Our leadership team isn’t eligible to win (our) prizes.
  • And goes without saying: Void where prohibited!
