A new letter from Mbithe!
This just in! Updated photos, report card, and a beautifully decorated letter have arrived from Mbithe Pius at the Kibera School for Girls in Kenya. Mbithe just turned 7 years old in November, finished kindergarten with a fantastic report card, and is starting first grade this month!
Mbithe is sponsored by STF*{Syracuse} and the amazing concert they threw for the Vivanista Flash Fundraiser Competition.

Sophia Paulo
Meet Sophia Paulo, a 17 year old at the Orkeeswa Secondary School in AfricAid’s Kisa Project. Sophia is from the village of Lashaine. She is one of the first girls from her village to get both a primary and secondary education.
She says that Kisa has helped her with public speaking and given her the opportunity to learn more about women. Sophia wants to become a politician so that she can help her village and work for women’s empowerment!
Sophia was sponsored in 2011 by the Tie-dye Cupcake Bake-off and is currently being sponsored in 2012 by the Voice Your Verse Campaign and Molly Page.

Anna Dennis
Meet Anna Dennis, a 19 year old in Form 3 at the Orkeeswa Secondary School in AfricAid’s Kisa Project. Anna is from the village of Monduli where she lives with her relatives and has two brothers and two sisters. She loves art and drawing.
Anna says that Kisa is improving her confidence, teaching her great communications skills and showing her the qualities it takes to be a good leader. She hopes to attend University in the future and study to be a lawyer!
Anna’s first year in the Kisa Project was sponsored by the 2011 Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake-Off and her second year is sponsored by employees at Hearst Corporation.

Tsion Tadele
Meet Tsion Tadele, a kindergartner at the Selamta Family Project in Ethiopia!
Tsion came to Selamta when she was only an infant with her mother, who started training to become a Selamta family mom. Now she is 6 years old and lives at the Selamta family home called Lalibela with her mom and her seven Selamta siblings.
Tsion is the youngest in her family, and loves to dance and do gymnastics! She gets a thrill out of all the attention she gets from her older siblings. Look at that spunk!
Tsion is sponsored by She’s the First*{Pitt}, who fundraised through the Her Campus Pitt Cultures Clothing Fashion Show in the fall!

Mina Giri
Mina is in the first grade at Kopila Valley. She is 7 years old and lives with her mom and brother. Her favorite color is pink, she loves mangos, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Mina also plays on the football (US soccer) team at Kopila!

Alisma Vista

Meheret Yosef
Meet Meheret Yosef, a fourth grader in the Selamta Family Project in Ethiopia!
Meheret is 13-years old and a star student. Last year she finished school with an average of 91 and ranked 5th out of 40 children in her class! Meheret lives with her seven brothers and sisters in the Hosanna House of the Selamta Project. In the photo, she is helping volunteers to repaint her living room!
