Dear Change-Bakers,

Can you believe it?! The 3rd annual She’s the First Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake-Off starts today!

It’s hard for me to believe that 3 years have passed since my Notre Dame soccer teammates and I whipped up our first batch of tie-dye cupcakes in our tiny dorm room. It’s even harder for me to believe that 3 years ago, 100 girls did not have the opportunity they have today to go to school. Yes, that’s right, these crazy tie-dye cupcakes have given 100 girls on 3 different continents the chance to rewrite their futures. None of this would have been possible without the hundreds of individuals around the world who have joined She’s the First along the way.

During the next seven days, we have the power to give even more girls the opportunity to get an education. Nearly 200 cupcake teams across the United States and 6 different countries are coming together to “Bake a Change.” Whether your goal is to sell 50 cupcakes or 500, remember each bake sale is giving She’s the First scholars so much more than just books and a school uniform. By empowering these girls with an education, we are giving them the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty they were born into and change their lives forever.

So it’s time for Cupcake Bake-Off veterans and rookies to unite because together we really can change the world one cupcake at a time!
