Are you a girl*?

No matter where you live in the world, you belong here. She’s the First is your organization. We are accountable to you. Our goal is to shift more power to you, while also fighting for every right you deserve.

This page is where you can find all of the leadership opportunities and tools that She’s the First has created to help you exercise your power.

*If you identify with the experiences of girls (gender-nonconforming, genderfluid, transfeminine experiences included) and are up to the age 22, then we’re talking to you!

Campus Community
If you’re in high school or college/university, you can start or join an STF campus chapter, a school club that fights for girls’ rights everywhere. STF will teach you about the issues girls face worldwide, and you’ll receive training to take local action for gender equality. (Boys are welcome, too!)

Girls Advisory Council
The Girls Advisory Council incorporates girls’ voices into our programming and communications decisions.

Two members are appointed as representatives to our Board of Directors.

Girl Activist Fellowship
The fellows work in teams to create unified advocacy campaigns about the topics they identify as most important to girls right now.

These will be our official advocacy campaigns each year.

You can make a big difference in your own community. You can use our toolkits and guidebooks to organize girls to talk about and take action for your rights.

The Global Girls’ Bill of Rights Toolkit
Download this toolkit for guidance on how to organize a local event or use social media to raise awareness for girls’ rights.

The Discover Your Power Journal
If you’re age 13-17, use this journal to tap your inner power to speak up and advocate for yourself and set future goals. You can do it with friends!

Advocating for yourself includes understanding your body. Download My Period Diary to record when your period starts, how long it lasts, and keep track of any signs and symptoms you may have. This is a manual (a.k.a. printable) tracker—we made it so it’s accessible for girls who don’t have access to the internet or smart phones—or if you just prefer to keep your health data out of the cloud.

Girl Talk Blog
Our blog, Girl Talk, publishes articles by girls in our programming and then shares them on @shesthefirst social media.

Would you like to share a story about your life experiences? Report on an issue impacting girls in your community? Tell us about an activism event you planned? We’re listening!
